Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What am I to expect in our initial consulation?
A: When i receive your call/text/email I will get back to you as soon as possible to set up a time that’s convenient to discuss what you are seeking for. During your initial consultation we will figure out what brings you to the decision of therapy at this time. This is also the time to ask me a few questions about what you may need help with and make sure we are a right fit.
Q: How long does therapy take?
A: Therapy is a journey and your experience is unique to you! I suggest starting with once a week sessions, and we can increase or decrease the frequency if needed. At the intake session I will gladly discuss with you an estimated time frame to achieve your goals, but ultimately it is different for everyone.
Q: Whats the difference between Therapy vs. Coaching?
A: Some people believe Coaching and Therapy to be similar but they actually are quite different. Coaching focuses on outer action with measurable results, whereas Therapy focuses on the “inner”: the conscious and subconscious mind.
The goal of coaching is truly to support clients in making specific changes with guidance and direction. That is why a coach will be helpful with a client to create benchmarks for which the client aims during their work together.
On the other hand, Therapists often help their clients identify and gain a deeper understanding of the conscious and subconscious reasons for their behaviors and how to resolve in-congruence.
Q: How does online therapy work?
A: Similar to face to face therapy but we do it digitally through the inter web. We would set up a time that is appropriate and connect through a secure HIPAA compliant web server to have sessions.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: I ask that if you need to cancel please give me at least 24 hours notice prior to your session. This will allow me to make the time slot available to others who may need to be seen. In the event that you do not make it to your appointment or cancel within 24 hours of your appointment a $75 fee will be charged. If you need to cancel please feel free to leave me a voice message at (813)-906-9064 or email me at johnnyn@prismwellnesscounseling.com.
